Traditional Chinese massage
Two types of traditional Chinese massage exist - Tui na which focuses on pushing, stretching and kneading the muscle and Zhi Ya which focuses on pinching and pressing at acupressure points. Both are based on principles from Traditional Chinese Medicine. Though in the Western countries Tui Na is viewed as massage, it is not. Massage of Chinese Medicine is known as Anmo(which is the foundation of Japan's Anma.
Tui Na is Chinese Medicine's Physio-Therapy. Utilized for medical purposes instead of relaxation, Tui Na works to correct the patient's problems, from musculoskeletal conditions, to diseases, cancers and even minor and major headaches.
Within the foundation of Tui Na, Traditional Chinese Medicine principles are followed, from Meridian Applications to Herbal Formulas, Qigong Therapy and heated herbal application (Moxa). Technique applications such as friction and vibration are used as well.
Thai massage
Thai massage is a type of massage in Thai style that involves stretching and deep massage. This form of bodywork is usually performed on the floor, and the client wears comfortable clothes that allow for movement. No oils are used in Thai massage.
Practice
The massage recipient changes into loose, comfortable clothes and lies on a mat or firm mattress on the floor. It can be done solo or in a group of a dozen or so patients in the same large room. The receiver is put into many yoga-like positions during the course of the massage.
The massage practitioner leans on the recipient's body using hands and usually straight forearms locked at the elbow to apply firm rhythmic pressure. The massage generally follows the Sen lines on the body—somewhat analogous to meridians or Channel (Chinese medicine) and Indian nadis. Legs and feet of the giver can be used to fixate the body or limbs of the recipient. In other positions, hands fixate the body, while the feet do the massaging action.
A full Thai massage session typically lasts two hours or more, and includes rhythmic pressing and stretching of the entire body; this may include pulling fingers, toes, ears, cracking the knuckles, walking on the recipient's back, and arching the recipient's into bhujangasana or (cobra position). There is a standard procedure and rhythm to this massage.
Prevalence
In Thailand, Thai massage is one of the branches of Thai traditional medicine (TTM), now recognized and regulated by the government, and is widely considered to be a medical discipline used for the treatment of a wide variety of ailments. On the other hand, Thai massage is also practiced and taught by a number of non-medical massage technicians in the spa and tourism industries. In North America and Europe, an increasing number of practitioners and teachers of Thai massage have emerged since the 1990s. In Europe and the United States, Thai massage is a growing modality among clients of massage clinics and massage therapists seeking continuing education.
History
Drawings of accupressure points on Sen lines at Wat Photemple in Phra Nakhon district, Bangkok, Thailand.
The founder of Thai massage and medicine is said to have been Shivago Komarpaj (Jīvaka Komarabhācca), who is said in the Pāli Buddhist Canon to have been the Buddha's physician over 2,500 years ago. In fact, the history of Thai massage is more complex than this legend of a single founder would suggest. Thai massage, like TTM more generally, is a combination of influences from Indian, Chinese, Southeast Asian cultural spheres and traditions of medicine.[1] The art as it is practiced today is likely to be the product of a 19th century synthesis of various healing traditions from all over the kingdom. Even today, there is considerable variation from region to region across Thailand, and no single routine or theoretical framework that is universally accepted among healers.

"Nuat boran" is the Thai name for a type of body work native to Thailand (nuat = pressure, boran = ancient). Thai massage is also known as northern-style Thai massage, Buntautuk style, Old Medicine Hospital Style, traditional Thai massage, Traditional Thai Medical Massage, Ancient Massage, Thai Yoga, Thai Yoga Massage, Yoga Massage, Thai Classical Massage, Thai Bodywork, Passive Yoga, Assisted Yoga, and Ancient Siamese Bodywork.
Theory
Generally speaking, practitioners of modern Thai massage operate on the theory that the body is permeated with "lom," or "air," which is inhaled into the lungs and which subsequently travels throughout the body along 72,000 pathways called "sen," or "vessels." Typically, massage therapists manipulate a handful of major sen lines by pressing certain points along the lines. In most models, the sen originate at the navel and spread throughout the body to terminate at the orifices. A significant part of the practice of Thai massage also includes yoga-like stretches which are intended to stimulate the sen and move lom through the body via a pumping action which is connected with the patient's breathing.
The theory of sen and lom is often translated into English as "meridians" and "energy." While there are some superficial similarities to Chinese meridian theory, the Thai system is markedly different as the sen are unconnected from the internal organs.

Raynor Massage is an astounding treatment which has one determined
purpose, to find and then remove deep rooted tension from your
body.
On a physical level it can help to heal many chronic conditions including
back pain, migraines, repetitive stress injury (RSI), sciatica, pinched nerves,
arthritis, scoliosis and sore neck. The technique uses deep tissue massage to
remove tightly held blockages within your energy lines leaving you feeling
relaxed and re-energised.
I just wanted to say a big thank you for sorting out my painful shoulder
today. To be honest I was expecting you to really hurt me but you were
excellent and whilst it was a bit uncomfortable at times it is complete bliss
now!!

"Sciatica has virtually disappeared and my general lower back pain has
eased considerably".
I have spent a considerable amount of time and money over the past few
years dealing with Issues in my back and sciatica. I used to visit a
physiotherapist & pain specialist based in Bayswater, London on a weekly
basis. After a while I had decided to give it a rest with the visits,
even though I had experience all kinds of treatment it seemed nothing was
working for me. To add to it the cost was becoming prohibitive. Eventually the
pain got so great that I had to look into it again. Having done a local search
on the Internet I came across Dave Taylor's very informative website. The
Raynor Massage was new to me. I decided to give it ago. The introductory offer
was enticing and I decided that I had little to lose and much to gain. I have
since revisited Dave in Sutton about 7/8 times now. I have always found Dave to
be very accommodating and able to fit me in at short notice. My Sciatica has
virtually disappeared and my general lower back pain has eased considerably. It
is all on my doorstep too! Win win. I am still careful, as I play a fair amount
of bad Golf. My visits now tend to be more stress related. I can’t help but
think that so many people would benefit from this type of massage. Thank
You!

"I felt much looser and more relaxed and went on to record several
personal bests in the competition."
As a competitive powerlifter it is vitally important for me to be able to
go into a competition with my body and mind feeling as relaxed and stress-free
as possible. I went for a deep tissue masage session with Dave in Sutton just
before my latest powerlifting competition, after a long and physically and
mentally taxing training period. I was delighted with the results; I felt much
looser and more relaxed in the week that followed, and went on to record
several personal bests in the competition.
Russel Willers - September - 2011
"One of the best experiences I have ever had"
I have been living with an old injury in my lower back which
requires
regular MOT sessions. So far I have been using Osteopaths. A few
months
ago I started training really hard and eating healthy. Unfortunately,
four
weeks ago I pulled a muscle in my lower back which put me out of
action completely for almost three weeks. My Osteopath fixed me up,
however,
due to the fact that I had been protecting the area my muscles in my
lower back got extremely tight. This meant that the pain continued.
I
saw Dave's advert at the LA Fitness gym in Ewell and immediately
booked an appointment. Dave saw me in the Sutton clinic at 6:15 pm on a
Friday. The
experience was AWESOME! I felt immediate relief. I think this was
one
of the best experiences I have ever had. I will be going back for more
Raynor Massage
on a regular basis. I have had other treatments done for various
reasons but every time I felt like it was either not enough or
something was missed. Dave's deep tissue massage treatment was spot on!
Thanks Dave and
see you again soon when you are back from the oil rig! :)
Dimitare Nedeltchev - August - 2011
"We both felt like the strain of life had been removed"
After a busy start to the year with my husband and I both training for the
London Marathon and then running it, along with all the stresses and strains
life brings, it was great to find Dave Taylor's massage so close to home and
even better to to be able to 'relax and unwind' with Dave's top to toe
massaging technique. We both felt like the strain of life had been
removed when we'd finished our sessions last night and to awake this morning
feeling revitalised, well, neither of us can wait for another appointment.
Fabulous first session offer and well worth every penny. Thanks
Dave.

"No More Need For An Osteopath"
A few months ago I took up cycling and noticed that I had difficulty when
turning my head to check out traffic behind me. I have always been to
osteopaths to seek treatment for ailments such as this but after a treatment
the problem remained. Then my dear friend Carol told me about the fantastic
Raynor Massage she had with Dave Taylor in Sutton. Dave made sure I understood
the techniques he uses before the treatment and afterwards I found I had more
mobility in my back and it no longer felt like a solid spine; there is more
flexibility and I definitely feel much better. So nowadays my first port of
call is to Dave and not the osteopath as I feel that my body responds well to
the deep tissue massage that he performs.
Deborah - July - 2011
"Not Had Such An In-Depth Workover Before"
I was searching for deep tissue massage near to my area of Croydon and as
a result i visited found Dave's website and booked an appointment. His approach
was very thorough with a good explanation of his various techniques (not just
deep tissue) and the linkage between mind and body. He then worked on my whole
body and not only addressed the points of pain but ones that I was not aware of
that were clearly linked! I have not had such an in-depth workover before where
he was able to loosen muscles but also work deep on the hard knots. I had to
drink loads of water afterwards given the amount of toxins released. I found
him to be very talented and my visit helped me a lot, so i will be going back
to see him in Sutton (maybe next time before I get the knots as prevention is
normally better than cure) and also recommend him.
Morgan - March - 2011
"The Pain Has Completely Gone"
After years of playing rugby and attending the gym, it has suddenly all
caught up with me! I visited Dave in Sutton as I could find no pain relief from
traditional methods and needed something that would actual subside the pain for
good.I cannot speak more highly about Dave and his unique style of massage.
After listening to my needs and identfying the problem areas Dave got to work.
I have never felt so good and the pain has completely gone. I will continue to
use his services weekly for now as I have no wish to go back to square 1, and I
would reccommend his services to anyone!
Andrew Sellar - March - 2011
" It felt like Dave worked on every muscle from the top of my head down to
my big toe"!
I'm not quite sure how it happened but I seemed to have signed up for the
London Marathon. I am certainly not a pro - athlete so am on quite a tough
training regime. My poor muscles have been suffering badly from DOMS (Deleayed
Onset Muscle Soreness) and I was wondering if a deep tissue massage would help
for my marathon training. A friend of mine reccommended Dave Taylor in Sutton.
I live in East London but decided to make the journey to Sutton. I am glad I
did.I was in quite a bit of pain and was nervous about the massage but Dave put
me at ease from the instant I walked through the door of his (rather posh)
clinic. The massage itself was intense and unlike any sports massage I have had
before. It felt like Dave worked on every muscle from the top of my head down
to my big toe! At times the massage was a bit sore, however, I felt in control
of any pain and allowed the deep pressure to happen. I had full confidence in
Dave throughout and it felt like he knew just how far to push it. What also
impressed me was that he also managed to fit in some excellent leg stretches
too. I was advised to take it easy for 24 hours after the massage and that
night I slept like a baby! Dave warned I might be a little tender in places the
next day and I was, but it was fine. It eased of quickly and I didn't mind at
all as I felt so much looser as a result of the massage. The true reward was on
my next marathon training session. Everything just worked better and the DOMS
was so much easier to live with. So thanks Dave and I can't wait till my next
session. If there are any runners in training for the marathon and is
considering the help of therapeutic massage, my advice would be wherever you
are, make the journey and see Dave.
Nick Stevens - January - 2011
"My daughter was Dave’s first cerebral palsy client and he clearly did his
research prior to her first appointment"
My daughter has cerebral palsy since birth, which affects all her muscles.
She only started to walk at the age of seven. All her movements lack
co-ordination and her balance is insecure. Tania undergoes various therapies
such as the Alexander Technique, holistic cranial massage, deep tissue massage,
acupuncture and osteopathy. The therapies she finds help her most are the
holistic cranial massage and deep tissue massage. She has to go to Central
London for the cranial massage and until recently, North London for the deep
tissue massage. It’s so amazing to have found the Raynor Massage (combination of
the cranial and deep tissue) with Dave so much nearer to home in Sutton,
Surrey. My daughter is Dave’s first cerebral palsy client and he clearly did
his research prior to her first appointment. The Raynor massage will definitely
help to keep my daughter’s muscle tone more supple and improve her mobility.
The massage we have had with Dave was genuinely one of the best we have
encountered and I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a brilliant and
professional massage treatment.
Carol Ang - January - 2011
"I was extraordinarily energised"
Having just returned from a rather strenuous rock climbing session in
Wales I was very much in need of a deep tissue massage. I felt very positive
and relaxed on the day after the massage but soon got quite tired and slept
early and soundly. The next day I felt a bit down and lethargic, this, however
soon wore off. I then went climbing about a week later and felt great!I
normally enjoy indoor training and feel enthusiatic but I was jumping at the
walls like a child! The best part was that I was not consciously looking for
any 'result' from the massage at the time and it just occurred to me that I was
'extraordinarily' energised' about half way through the training. All my
muscles were working properly! After training I tried to work out why I had
performed so much better than usual and the only difference that week had been
the massage! I was planning to get some more 'energy' from you before I go
walking for miles up to Ben Nevis! However, I will probably also need help to
recover after my trip!
Stuart Elliot - January - 2011
"The massage was intense"
"Had both neck & upper back pain for a week which kept getting worse.
Called up Dave on Saturday morning and luckily for me he had a cancelation and
had a slot lined up a few hours later. The massage was intense and a lot of
effort went into it and was very thorough. Already the next day I was back to
90% and 100% in 2 days time. Definitely recommend it!!"
Dejan Stamenkovic - November - 2011
" I can only describe it as an awakening of nerve endings I had long given
up on"!
I have for a long time now suffered with neck and shoulder problems,
mostly from old injuries I got during my work within West End Musical Theatre .
I have used several methods to alleviate the pain prior to my Raynor Massage
session with Dave in Sutton, London but none were as informative and relaxing
as this technique. I can truly say I have felt muscles I have never felt before
and in a most enlightening way. The strength of this massage and the absolute
apparent affect it had on my body during and after was both strange and new to
me, but definitely reached places others have not been able to match. I can
only describe it as an awakening of nerve endings I had long given up on. It
really helped relieve many months of pressure for me and that was after only
one treatment! I am determined to carry on with further sessions with Dave as I
now understand the principal of the Raynor Technique and felt an immediate
relief of pain. In the long term I can also see this technique being wholly
beneficial to my whole body and mind. A fantastic first experience. Thank you
Dave!
Richard Burman - October - 2010
"My arms and legs are free of pain and I can't wait for my next
treatment"!
"Its so great to have an amazing deep tissue massage therapist so near to
where I live in Epsom! I was having nasty tension problems with the back of my
legs and arms and this form of deep tissue massage was brilliant in getting rid
of it. My arms and legs are free of pain and I can't wait for my next
treatment! Thanks so much!"
Ed Taoka - October - 2010
"it just challenged every imbalance in my body"!
"I recently had the pleasure to experience Dave Taylor's massage, and it
was phenomenal! His touch is amazing, and he's very professional.I must say I
love the Raynor Massage technique, and how it just challenged every imbalance
in my body. I walked out of my treatment feeling 5 years younger! I recommend
Dave Taylor and his massage from the bottom of my heart!"
Sandra Svensson - August - 2010
"I slept like a rock that night after the massage"
"I had my first experience of a Raynors Massage through Dave. It was
great! I slept like a rock that night after the massage. I am an athlete with a
few muscle pains from constant training, and this was a firm massage that
really loosened up my muscles. I would really recommend Dave Taylor."
Jonathan - August - 2010
"It provided a full body relaxation"
As a Chinese martial arts practitioner and part-time instructor, I often
use deep tissue massage in order to remain supple and mobile. I have sampled
many different massage styles from Western and Asian systems. This massage with
Dave was genuinely one the best I have encountered. It provided a full body
relaxation, relief of muscle tension and restored joint mobility. It is a very
thorough system, which I would recommend to anyone in search of a great,
professional massage treatment.

" I feel significantly more relaxed, and less tense"
"I had my first massage with Dave Taylor in the clinic in Sutton
yesterday. I'd had other massages in the past, but wow! This was different.
Whilst the Raynor Massage technique cannot be described as anything other than
'intense', it is totally worth it. I feel significantly more relaxed, and less
tense. I would honestly thoroughly recommend Raynor Massage to anyone
considering such a massage."

There is no substitute
for the human touch
It's 100% good for you, with no artificial additives or ingredients and it's easy to do. One of the best things about massage is that you don't need a lot of fancy expensive equipment to get or give one. All you really need to get started is a human body . Do you have one? Great! Than you are ready to go.
The comfort, warmth and reassurance of touch can improve the body's well being by stimulating its own natural healing abilities giving a sense of well being, restoring both - the physical and psychological self.
Remember prevention is better than
cure. Once you show signs of improvement we will continue to work with you to
keep harmony and balance already achieved. A regular treatment, depending on
your timetable, will stop future stress accumulating.
Long-term stress inhibits the balancing process by denying the body the opportunity and interrupting the cycle. Chronic long-term stress, often self-imposed by modern work pressures , economic and social aspirations coupled with environmental stress of urban living maintain imbalance with all its attendant problems.
Massage offers the ultimate solution to these damaging effects of accumulated stress and aid in harmonizing a troubled body and mind.
Regular massage strengthens and tones the entire body system. It can stimulate or alternately calm the nervous system, help to ease tension, stiffness and pain leaving the recipient with an enhanced sense of well being.
We encourage you to have regular treatments to prevent illness and maintain a state of well being.

Massage therapy is a low-tech healing art with a strong artistic/intuitive component. If I have the choice of an advanced practitioner who is full of himself or a basic practitioner who genuinely cares, I will go for the caring .
Caring deeply remains not only our first concern but our first resource, technique remains a distant second. Indeed, when a therapist is committed to deep caring and not to the latest modality, the patient gets precisely the right kind of massage. No tough choice is needed.

========
Masaż tajski jest jedną z czterech gałęzi tradycyjnej
medycyny Tajów. Reprezentuje jedyny w swoim rodzaju
i medytacji w związku z czym praktykujący go terapeuci
wykorzystują więcej elementów własnego ciała niż w
jakimkolwiek innym stylu leczniczej manipulacji. Jest
to zabieg suchy (bez oliwy) wykonywany przez cienkie
luźne ubranie na macie rozłożonej na podłodze, z
dostateczną ilością miejsca wokół niej co umożliwia
terapeucie swobodne przenoszenie środka ciężkości
własnego ciała w różne położenia wokół pacjenta i nad
nim. Łączy on w sobie bardzo powolne i rytmiczne
uciskanie mięśni w celu ich rozluźnienia, a następnie
ich rozciąganie w celu zwiększenia zakresu ruchów.
Masażysta masuje nie tylko dłońmi, ale również
przedramionami, łokciami, stopami i kolanami,
Leniwych. Osoba poddawana zabiegowi przyjmuje przy tym
wiele różnych pozycji wywodzących się z pięciu
zasadniczych postaw - leżenia tyłem, przodem i na boku
oraz postaw odwróconej i siedzącej.
Dzięki temu niezwykłemu połączeniu, masaż w sposób
holistyczny poprawia kondycje fizyczną, duchową i
intelektualną, przynosi fizyczne i psychiczne
zrelaksowanie, wzrost sił witalnych oraz odczucie
równowagi duchowej. Jednocześnie dzięki bardzo
powolnemu medytatywnemu wykonywaniu jest bardzo
głęboko relaksujący, rozciąga ciało, rozluźnia i
pracy z indywidualnymi klientami.

Kanya Krongboon, nauczycielka masazu tajskiego w Poslce, o sobie:
Jestem terapeutką i nauczycielką jogicznego masażu tajskiego,
indonezyjskiego, tajskiego masażu stóp i tajskiego masażu ziołowego
z
kilkunastoletnim doświadczeniem. Wykonałam grubo ponad dziesięć
tysięcy zabiegów, każdy trwający co najmniej godzine i wyszkoliłam w
trybie indywidualnym w Tajlandii i Wielkiej Brytanii ponad 500
tajskiego masażu stóp i tajskiego masażu ziołowego w Polsce.
Prowadze
kursy w Warszawie, Krakowie, Gdansku, Szczecinie, Wroclawiu,
Katowicach, Poznaniu, Lodzi, Gorlicach i Grudziadzu. Prowadzilam
kursy
w Krynicy Zdroku, Mielnie, Miedzyzdrojach i Szczecinku.
Pracowałam w Warszawie szkole masażu na Czerniakowie, w ośrodku
sportowym na Powiślu, w Riverview Wellness Centre w hotelu
Intercontinental, w Spa Celebrity, w Płockiej Akademii Jogi, w
gabinecie masażu tajskiego na Ursynowie.
Oto co o mnie i o moich kursach powiedzieli uczestnicy kursów:
**
Kanya jest fantastyczną osobą. Potrafi wszystko cierpliwie

niemożliwym połączeniem w jednej osobie, a przecież właśnie istnieje

Kurs przygotowany i prowadzony bardzo solidnie i profesjonalnie.
Polecam ten kurs zarówno amatorom jak i "zawodowcom". Osoby nie
zajmujące się profesjonalnie masażem mają szansę i możliwość poznać
nową, fascynującą przygodę obcowania z człowiekiem. Osoby pracujące
w
zawodzie mogą natomiast kapitalnie poszerzyć i udoskonalić swój
warsztat. Czas najlepiej weryfikuje różne nowe wynalazki, te
najlepsze

organizmu. PS Jurek obronił pracę magisterską i jest
już dyplomowanym fizjoterapeutą. Wysyłam wam kilka
fotek z kursu Masażu Tajskiego. Pozdrawiam gorąco .

Gosia, kurs masażu Krynica Zdrój:
Mieszkam w Zielonej Gorze to mała miejscowość i trochę
poddaje. Lubię robić ten masaż i cieszy mnie radość i
zadowolenie w oczach moich pacjentów. Moi pacjenci to
ludzie praktykujący jogę. Po masażach dużo łatwiej im
praktykować jogę. Bardzo chciałabym nauczyć się wiecej
masaży, które robi Kania. Ale Wy jesteście albo w
Krynicy albo w Warszawie. Może byśmy pomyśleli na
organizowaniu takich szkoleń w Zielonej Gorze. Tu na
zachodzie Polski brakuje takich szkoleń. Pozdrawiam
